Contentful Personalization is rolling out three significant updates: the Optimization Agent is now available in General Availability, analytics are fully included in all Personalization plans, and the platform now supports native mobile applications.

The central driver of these updates is an operational problem: insights are identified, but weeks often pass before they are implemented – against an entirely different group of visitors than the original data basis. This delay measurably costs companies conversion potential. Contentful addresses this point directly through automation and integration.

The Optimization Agent as an enabler

The Optimization Agent is a conversational AI tool that allows teams to create audiences, analyze performance, run experiments, and configure setups without errors – all in natural language, without separate tools or technical handoffs. This eliminates the classic workflow break between analyst and implementer. In practice, this means: marketing teams ask questions instead of writing tickets.

Analytics at no extra cost

The complete analytics suite (Content Insights, Audience Insights, and Benchmarking) is now included free of charge in every Personalization plan and enables performance measurement at the component level. This lowers the barrier to entry for mid-sized organizations and weakens the “too expensive” argument against data-driven marketing.

Mobile support as a differentiator

The Optimization SDK now fully supports mobile platforms with a React Native SDK and native iOS and Android SDKs for personalization, screen tracking, and consent management. This means personalization and analytics can be rolled out consistently across web, server, iOS, Android, and React Native. This is critical because mobile app personalization previously required either hybrid solutions or a second best-of-breed platform.

Strategic implications for projects

For DXP and CMS implementations, this specifically means:

1. Faster time-to-value: the agent's no-code operation shortens iteration cycles from weeks to days.

2. Lower operating costs: models with analytics included and automated experiment workflows reduce lead times while operationalizing at the same time – as at Ruggable, which cut deployment time from days to hours.

3. Mobile as a first-class citizen: teams no longer have to juggle between web and app personalization. This is relevant for retail, SaaS, and publishers who already generate 60+ percent of their traffic on mobile.

Recommended actions**

Organizations should check whether their current personalization stacks cover app-native scenarios. If not, this update is a turning point – not as a technical gimmick, but for economic reasons. The combined features genuinely close a gap between insight and action that could previously cost DMS teams a month's salary.

For Contentful environments (existing or planned): now is the time to integrate mobile sizing into your roadmaps instead of postponing it until “later”.
